1. Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom

Especially ideal for a summer trek through northeastern PA, the Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is of the state's premier attractions, and a must-visit among the roadside top sites. Head for Allentown, a short drive from both Quaktertown and Bethlehem, and you'll find this excellent thrill park just north of Interstate 78. There are more than 60 rides here, including Steel Force, the ninth longest steel coaster around. The park is open May through October.

3. Zippo/Case Visitors Center

A truly iconic symbol of Americana, Zippo lighters have been around since 1932. Make your way to western PA soon and check out the Zippo/Case Visitors Center in Bradford. Make the short drive in from St. Marys and enjoy a tour of this 15,000-square foot facility.

4. Bilger's Rocks

Be sure to check out the very unique Bilger's Rocks in Grampian, just west of Clearfield. These sandstone formations bring in thousands of visitors each year, some hoping to simply take a peak, others hoping to visit and explore the Devi's Dining Room – just one of the areas where you can rock climb.

8. The Big Coffee Pot

One of the stranger and more compelling roadside attractions in PA is the Big Coffee Pot. There should not be much confusion regarding this attraction – it's, quite literally, a huge coffee pot. Standing at 18 feet high, this giant kettle has been around since 1927, was once a bustling lunch stop, and today has been wonderfully restored. Check it out in Bedford, a short drive from Breezewood.

9. America on Wheels Museum

Another of Allentown's excellent pit stops, the America on Wheels Museum is a must for gear-heads, car lovers, and general auto enthusiasts. The 43,000-square foot, two story structure features three main exhibit areas, with plenty of side areas – all of which contain excellent artifacts, information, and more.

10. Valley Forge National Historical Park

When your visit to PA has you in King of Prussia, do not miss a chance to see and explore Valley Forge National Historical Park. Though it is just one of the many historical and important sites found in the Philadelphia metro area, Valley Forge NHP is always worth a visit. In 1777, it was home of the Continental Army encampment. Be sure to tour the Valley Forge Visitor Center, and enjoy a hike or bike ride along more than 28 miles of trails within the park.
