Apple Festival, New Cumberland

Held in January, the Pennsylvania Farm Show began in 1917 as the Pennsylvania State Fair, and is the country's largest indoor agricultural event Set in the 24-acre Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg, the show draws over 500,000 attendees, and includes horse, livestock, and agricultural shows.
Set in New Cumberland, the annual Apple Festival is held in late September, and has been a staple of the city’s event calendar for over 25 years. Located along Bridge Street, the Apple Festival is an all day festival featuring live music, apple pie contests, arts and crafts, and of course, plenty of apples. Grab a candy apple and dance the day away in New Cumberland.
Carlisle is known for its car shows – most of which are held at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Don’t miss the Spring Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet & Corral in late April, and the Zephyrhills Fall AutoFest in early November. Summer events include the Carlisle Ford Nationals, Carlisle GM Nationals, and the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals – capped off with the Carlisle Truck Nationals, Bloomsburg Nationals, and Corvettes at Carlisle in August.

Fall travelers, check out the historic York Fair – a 10-day celebration in September, said to be the country’s oldest fair. Held at the York Fairgrounds, the York Fair dates back to 1765, and is upheld every year with petting zoos, horse shows, races, contests, and crafts.
