The 2016 Blueberry Festival is fun for the whole family in Bethlehem. Head over to the Burnside Plantation on July 16th and 17th and enjoy brewing demonstrations, kids' crafts, horse and buggy rides, and even a blueberry pie eating contest. The fun starts at 11 a.m. both days.
You don't have to drive all the way to Philly to enjoy America's Favorite Pastime this summer. The future MLB stars of the Wilkes-Barre Scranton RailRiders round the bases at PNC Field, near Wilkes-Barre in Moosic. Check the schedule and be a part of the action – the MiLB season goes into September.
The arts are alive in Wilkes-Barre and the Third Friday Wilkes-Barre Art Walk is an opportunity to check the pulse. Starting at 5 p.m. on the third Friday of every month through October, galleries and venues throughout the downtown area open up to showcase the works of local artists and live performers as the surrounding streets fill with local food and drink vendors.
Road trippers through the region can get a great first impression by detouring down Route 6 for a scenic driving tour. The iconic roadway reveals not only the gorgeous Allegheny National Forest but also countless uniquely PA attractions along the way. To find a sense of local life, make sure to get out and stretch in towns like Scranton, Bradford, and Towanda.
Troy, Towanda’s neighbor to the west, welcomes fall with the 2016 Pennsylvania Heritage Festival on September 17th and 18th. It's a gathering of artisans and other vendors, inviting visitors to enjoy glassblowing demonstrations, a variety of arts and crafts, and all kinds of other fun for the little ones.
